Introduction

While it’s true the risk of falling increases as you age, there are ways you can reduce your risk of falling and remain independent. Some falls are beyond our control. However, certain risk factors that are associated with falls can be modified or fully corrected to reduce fall risk. The more risk factors you have, the higher your risk of falls. We all have our own personal risk factors for falls depending on our past history, current health issues and chronic conditions.
